The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
Habit #1: Be Proactive: To be proactive is to take responsibility for what you are obligated to do. Taking obligation is very important because it can make you very responsible in the adult hood.
Habit #2: Begin with End in Mind: To being with End in mind only means to think about your ending solution. Meaning what would your ending from a problem look like. For example, would it be positive or would it be negative? When it comes to a situation like such, you wanna make sure things get clarified and that is ends positive. I for example, had a problem and I wanted things to be clear between the person and I. So I made such that my ending to that situation was positive. Another example of keeping ending in mind would be your future. Where is it END up in your future? What you want you end to look like in the future? What's your final project? To me this is what '' Begin with End in Mind'' means to me.
Habit #4: Think Win-Win: Think Win - win isn't about being nice, nor is it a quick -fix technique. It's a character based code for human interaction and collaboration among others. Also, giving others the opportunity to take the chance and win. This is a way to succeed in. For example, helping others and making them succeed with you. This shows that you care for you and others.
Habit #5: Seek first to understand, then to be understood: To seek things and understanding them is on thing but to get understood is another i'll tell you why... If you are trying to learn something new and figure it out you will to understand it. Also, if anything is more important, is for other to try understand what your understanding is. For me, it is very hard for others to understand me. Why? Because not everyone knows what's it like walking in/on my shoes and vice versa. Even though you don't go what others g through, try to understand them. It's best to make them feel better.
Habit # 6: The whole is great than the sum of it's parts:
To me what this means is that you work better with a group of people than with just yourself and one other. It's better when you have the opportunity to work in a group because, things get done faster, more time in your hands, and you have the chance of seeing others capacity and ability.
Habit# 7: Sharpen the Saw: As you renew yourself in each of the four areas, you create growth and change in your life. Sharpen the Saw keeps you fresh so you can continue to practice the other six habits. You increase your capacity to produce and handle the challenges around you. Without this renewal, the body becomes weak, the mind mechanical, the emotions raw, the spirit insensitive, and the person selfish.
REFLECTION: Learning just 7 habits to become more effective seemed like just the quick fix I was looking for back then. I figured I could learn a few more habits, after all the habits I was trying to break I don’t remember trying to learn in the first place. When I completed reading his book, I recall feeling a new found sense of order in how to approach life and work. One take the greater place out of all habits , HABIT #7: sharpen the saw. Never feel ready, always develop who and what you are. Yes, go beyond your capacity but not to the extreme that you can get the work done.
